COPY & PASTE: the main idea behind the Fall/Winter 2016/17 CHANEL campaign photographed by Karl Lagerfeld

When I saw CHANEL’s Fall-Winter 2016-17 campaign I was totally amazed. Karl Lagerfeld created a stunning ad campaign, featuring Mariacarla Boscono and Sarah Brannon posing with classic CHANEL pieces against colorful backgrounds. Copying and pasting fabrics and textures from CHANEL’s tweeds, leather bags, camellias, pearl necklaces, and combining them with emoticons and art-deco graphics results in a super pop and dynamic campaign.

The campaign also struck me because of the makeup signed by Tom Pecheux. If you take a closer look you will see something familiar: all models wear MILY's Eye Flashes

The makeup inspiration may have come from Sarah Brannon’s NUMÉRO editorial which featured MILY's Eye Flashes as well (see our blog post about the NUMÉRO editorial).
